Philadelphia Pickle Company - Handcrafted

Pride & Grit.
Born in South Philly.

South Philadelphia doesn’t hand out respect — you earn it.
Philadelphia Pickle Company is built on that mindset. We believe in high standards, hard work, and showing up consistently. Every jar reflects pride in the craft and the grit it takes to do things the right way.

A South Philly return built on pride and pickles.

I grew up here. The corner stores, the markets, the noise, the loyalty — it shaped me. Food in South Philly isn’t fancy. It’s personal.

Years ago, I built a pickle company from the ground up in Lancaster. For ten years, it thrived. It taught me discipline, standards, and what it really means to build something with care.

But South Philly was always home.

Opening Philadelphia Pickle Company at 1843 E Passyunk Avenue isn’t just a business decision — it’s a return. A return to the neighborhood that raised me, to the kind of food culture that doesn’t tolerate shortcuts, and to the belief that if you’re going to put your name on something, it better be right.

Every jar we make reflects that mindset. Bold flavor. Honest ingredients. No gimmicks. Just quality done the way it should be.

This shop is built on experience, pride, and the understanding that food is personal here. It belongs at family tables, on deli counters, and in the hands of neighbors who expect the best.

South Philly made me who I am.

I’m proud to bring this back home.

No Shortcuts

After building a successful pickle company for ten years, I knew something was missing. Home.

Bringing Philadelphia Pickle Company back to South Philly isn’t a new beginning — it’s a return. Sharper, stronger, and rooted exactly where it belongs.

Clean Label.
Honest Ingredients

“Clean Label” Method and Hydroponic Grow Operation

Philadelphia Pickle Company method is a quick process and pickles are made from scratch, with no fermenting and no preservatives. As such, they are able to use a “Clean Label” notation, which is an agricultural nomenclature that is paid for on a yearly basis.

“The way we do it is a little different: we have a hydroponic grow operation that we use. We share it with a couple other hydroponic farmers, so we don’t have to shut down (during the winter months). We have a continual supply,” he explained.

We use Kirby cucumbers, which are the ideal length of 4 to 6 inches, are quick growing and firm, plus they have the crunch that customers love.

We don’t hide behind labels or shortcuts.
Our pickles are made in small batches with real ingredients, balanced brines, and bold flavor. No gimmicks. No watered-down recipes. Just quality you can taste.

Because what’s shared at the table matters.

A Return to the Neighborhood That Raised Me

This business was built with experience. It’s powered by something deeper — gratitude.

South Philadelphia raised me. It taught me standards, pride, and resilience. Opening our doors here is more than a milestone. It’s personal.

This shop exists because of this neighborhood.
